Charisma Wickham - BSc. M.Phil.(Design/Engineering)
Charisma is an award-winning inventor and research and development specialist dedicated to removing footprints detrimental to the global environment. She is Founder Executive Chairperson and CEO of Wicker Research Centre.
Charisma's background as an inventor and R&D specialist spans over 25 years in the field of materials engineering. She is a strong advocate of developmental research on a spectrum of initiatives aimed at identifying ongoing environmental issues and defining innovative solutions in a global context.
Passionate about transforming ideas into enterprises, Charisma has a sound track record in developing new environmental technologies and readying them for commercialisation. As head of R&D, her inventions won recognition in Australia and worldwide, including the World Quality Commitment Gold Star Award 2001, Paris; the SGIO Finalist Award for Innovative Products 2004 Western Australia; the New Inventors Peoples’ Choice 2004 award; the Gold Crown Award of UK 2006; and the American Chamber of Commerce Exponential Award in 2007, to name a few. She was nominated Australian of the Year Award in 2007, 2008 and 2009 and listed in the WHO’s WHO of Australian Women 2008.
Charisma's goal for Wicker Research initially is to capture a significant share of the global hygiene market by introducing the company’s flagship product TwinkleBotts.
Charisma was granted citizenship to Australia under the Distinguished Talent category. She graduated from Curtin University of Technology WA in 2006, and is presently pursuing a PhD in materials engineering.
Sylvia Sen – BSc. (Science & Applied Geology)
Sylvia demonstrates a strong foundation in science backed by her qualifications in Multidisciplinary Sciences and a bachelor of science in Applied Geology from Curtin University. Her commitment to the sciences and her industry via volunteer engagements granted her the role of President of the AusIMM Curtin Student Chapter and Treasurer for the Western Australian School of Mines (WASM) Wallabies. Former Public Relations Manager and Events Manager at C.W. Research Centre she has experience liaising with media and radio stations along with over 5 years of experience as an Assistant Manager in the sales sector and within the family business. Sylvia is an old girl of Methodist Ladies College, W. A and her accomplishments in public speaking and debating allowed her the opportunity to be a representative of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at the Sri Lankan Model United Nations (SLMUN). Sylvia started her career as a fashion designer, which resulted in her becoming a finalist of the Sri Lankan up & coming Fashion Designer Awards receiving the Slim Green Ambassadorship Award.
